5 for Friday

I am so thankful to be able to say it is officially the weekend.  We’ve had a week filled with a missed work day, a doctor’s visit, a recently identified double ear infections, traffic nightmares on this Friday the 13th, and just a bunch of other work and personal stressors.  Most importantly, all of us are accounted for and safely at home this fine evening.  Here are 5 things on my mind this Friday…

Buns!  My always favorite hairstyle!  Although it is not the most exciting and can look a bit severe, I do love a good bun!  I need my hair up and out of my face.  This is  especially needed on a Friday filled with assessments and a pediatrician visit.

My faithful bedtime snack of 1/4 cup oatmeal + 1 heaping tbsp. of almond butter + 1 heaping tbsp. of all natural (meaning no gross red food dye) raspberry jelly.  I put all this in a glass bowl, add just a bit of water to moisten all the oats, and microwave about 50 seconds.  Then, I make myself a nice cup of Sleeptime tea.  Delish!

My weekend run!  I’m excited to have the opportunity to get a run in this weekend.  I have really grown to love my running time, and I have missed that unencumbered alone time that the long, marathon-prep runs required.  I’m hopeful to get at least 1 run in between Saturday and Sunday if not two.  The temps look like they’re going to fall-like!  Perfect.

High school reunions ~ It is hard to believe that it is the Mr.’s 10 year high school reunion.  I did not attend mine.  It was a little scattered in the organization department, and (honestly) it was a lot going on last year with little H’s arrival.  However, we are attending the Mr.’s, and I’m mostly looking forward to not cooking dinner and having an adult beverage (probably literally “a” beverage!) with adults.  I’ll be shopping my closet and wearing this dress from The Limited….

I’m so excited to have a coffee date with the Mr. in the morning.  Pumpkin Spice Latte, here I come!  We will be up mighty early for a Saturday after this ick week, but I think that with the aid of a seasonal treat and the required sitting and talking that a little road trip requires it will all be ok.

Enjoy your weekend.  I’m certainly going to.  🙂
