A Muddy Run

Greetings!  Can you believe that we are already over “the hump” of hump day???  I’m so looking forward to the weekend.  My sister is graduating (again!) from Old Dominion University with a Master of Science in Education:  Speech-Language Pathology.  She is so grown up and professional sounding with all that behind her name!  In addition to all that excitement, I’m looking forward to some decently warm temps and an outdoors run.  I just hate treadmill runs!  I participated in my very first mud run this past Saturday at the Man Meets Mud event in Pocomoke City, MD.  It was a 5K run with 20+ obstacles.  I went in not knowing what to expect, but I was surprised how intense the obstacles were.  Thank goodness I kept up my weight lifting with some running thrown in.  I truly think that was more crucial than the running.  Unfortunately, I don’t have my time yet.  I guess that’s what happens when it is a race without chip timing!  I did finishing first in my heat for the ladies and fifth overall in the heat for guys and gals.  My parents as well as little H were there to cheer me on.

Just a snapshot of our day this past Saturday!  So fun and definitely on my list to do again in the future.  I’m thinking the weekend run is going to be a little milder than this!

Happy running!  What’s the best race you’ve participated in?  Color runs?  Zombie runs?  Night runs?

  1. You came out of the race so clean!! How did you manage that? I always come out covered in mud from the end of the race mudpit. (I’ve only done Warrior Dash though) Congrats on finishing and kicking booty on the obstacles!!!
