5 for Friday

Another edition!  We’ve had hot hot hot temperatures here the past few days!  What a change!  I must admit I love the warmer weather.  Here’s 5 things on my (toasty) mind this Friday…

Outside and more outside time!  It almost feels sinful not to be outside enjoying the weather and just nature coming alive again after that crazy winter.  I love taking Holden to the park, and I know it’s important for him to socialize aka stare at other kids 🙂 but part of me loves when we just have the park to ourselves.  After some early traveling last Sunday, we arrived at a park not too far from home that was quiet at 8 o’clock in the morning.  We’re early risers!

I’m so thankful for all the gifts from our students!  I received candy, soaps, gum, magazines, sunscreen, homemade treats, cups, gift cards, flowers…  The list goes on and on.  Although it is nice to receive these things, I’ve been getting the best gifts of all this week in the form of awesome testing results from my students.  Looks like they may have been paying attention, absorbing, and learning how to apply all that teaching that has been going on this year after all!

I’m excited to try a new twist on a recipe.  I’m making my own “crust” for a fruit pizza following Monica’s advice/recipe from The Yummy Life.  I’ve made mini fruit pizzas before following the semi-homemade recipe using sugar cookie dough.  I want to make it a bit healthier this time, but I confess to being a *little* worried about how busy my Saturday morning is going to be with all this homemade-ness going on!  Here is her recipe and beautiful creation pictured below…  Doesn’t it look scrumptious!?!?!

A little thought for teachers and those who work with kids…

We are well on our way to hearing a decision from the bank regarding the offer we put in on a home that is a short sale.  I try not to obsess about it, but I am so excited!!!!   I can proudly report that I did not cyber-stalk our realtor and did not contact him until he contacted us this week.  I know it is a lengthy process, so I was trying to be patient.  I would just love to be able to do some project like the one below over the summer.  An address change in the permanent variety would be so exciting!!!

Cute, huh?  See full details how do make these little darlings here.

Hope you had a terrific Friday!  Two fat days of weekend fun await!
