Five for Friday

The last Friday of May!  Wow!  It’s hard to believe summer is almost upon us.  Here are the top five “summery” things on my mind.

All sorts of summery foods!  – I really want to try the Very Berry Ice Box Cake that I’ve had bookmarked since last summer.  It looks so easy and so yummy with my favorites, graham crackers!

Summer schedule! – I’m so looking forward to a bit of a different pace.  The one below from Organizing Made Fun looks perfect.  I may just jiggle the days around a bit to fit our library/swimming lesson class schedule.

Visiting family and getting some blueberries!  – Holden’s favorite fruit (really one of many) is the blueberry.  I’m trying to coordinate a trip to see our families with the Blueberry Festival weekend on Chincoteague Island, VA.  You can read more about it here.  I’m thinking he’ll polish off any I get (and possibly freeze) by September.

Picnics – Oh how I love a picnic!  I’m completely inspired to have more “grown-up” sandwiches on my summer picnic after my recent grown-ups only picnic in the ATL.  I loved the ham, brie, fig jam, and sliced green apple combo.  Here’s a list of Martha’s picks.  I love the first option.

Move! – I love a fresh, clean start.  That’s what this house is.  I’m so thrilled to report that we are full steam ahead for our closing date of June 16.  We’re on our way to being happy homeowners with a lot more elbow room!

There you go!  Happy Friday!
