Hallelujah! It’s Friday! What a week it has been! I’m not sure I’ve been this dog tired since…last September! Things are *starting* to get a little more smooth at school, and my feet are slowly adjusting to standing up lots aka sit down to eat a super quick lunch and for potty breaks. Holden is doing well in his new routine although we have had a few tears with daddy drops him off. His preschool is very sweet and play-based/Montessori-ish which I’m sure would be a win for him if he understood the differences. The laundry is definitely not in the routine of things as two big loads have sat (nicely clean) in baskets for days. There is also a good amount of sand in the tub from a boy who loves a sandbox. What has the maid been up to while we are working!?!?!
The sleep of a child…
Notice he’s just in underwear…even more precious!
Pie season! I love pies. They are perfectly easy to make, typically are fruity (this helps me break a chocolate addiction for a bit), and really remind me of fall and cooler weather. I used some berries from H’s granny’s garden and a pre made crust from Trader Joe’s. This is the recipe I use.
Finding time for afternoon adventures…A good reason that I’ve got laundry to fold and ten million farm animals in the floor of the family room is probably that I’ve been trying to keep up with our outdoors adventures even on school days. Yesterday, we walked to a nearby park, played on the playground there, and then came home to practice our bike riding. Today, we are off on another adventure. It does not include laundry. 🙂 Sometimes, we just hit up the sandbox. P.S. We need more sand. The dump truck keeps dumping its load on the deck!
Grow up clothes every day! After summer’s wardrobe (aka short and tanks that don’t necessarily make much of a statement except “I’m hot and busy.”), it is kind of nice to be in adult-like clothes. I’ve got some cute stuff! Who knew!
I’m looking forward to an oyster roast that our church is having tomorrow. Now, I do not eat oysters, clams, and pretty much any other seafood except fish and shrimp. If you know where I’m from (Eastern Shore of Virginia, and now you do), this is pretty much like spitting on the American flag. However…there will be other barbecue foods, a bounce house for Holden, plus face painting plus….lots of other stuff. So, I’ll endure the sight of oysters. I’m making this salad to take. It was in the top 3 on Pinterest when I typed “easy salad recipe.” Winner winner chicken dinner! That’ll work for me!
I’ll let you know how it is. That’s part of our adventure this afternoon. Grocery store!
Have a wonderful Friday! TGIF!
