C is for Cookie Part II

This post is also titled “C is for Cookie” as my parents’ dog, Cookie, nearly took me out this past weekend!  We visited family and had a wonderful time with the exception of the Cookie incident.  Basically, I was taking in our stuff at my parents’ house when a big brown dog came up behind me.  Her full weight into my leg equaled a cartoon-like spin and a landing in the flower bed.  I admittedly cried like a baby.  It hurt!  Not to mention the whole thing really scared me when I thought it might be a more serious sprain/break problem.  Thank goodness Cookie didn’t completely wipe me out for weeks!  I took it easy Saturday and mostly Sunday.  I ran on it today…about 3.1 miles.  It was only a minor twinge around mile 2.  Despite the ankle issue, we had a great time enjoying some TV, a Halloween party,  an al fresco oyster roast, lots of doggy entertainment and even a Pinterest caramel apple fail.

Happy hump day!  These days are going by crazy fast!  It will be Christmas before we know it!

C is for Cookie

Let me just say things have been a little busy for me and mine!  October is zooming by!  I can hardly believe we are almost at the halfway point.  Last weekend, we took Holden to see Sesame Street “Let’s Dance.”  He had a blast!  He is definitely a hard-core Cookie Monster fan despite the whole Elmo cult following surrounding him there.  It was a great show with lots of audience participation and action.

After the 90 minute show, we took a few pictures in front of the ODU Monarch.

It was such a fun weekend, and I was glad I splurged a little more than my tendency and got “good seats.”  I’ve never been as close to the action as Holden was that day!

As the work week geared up, we were pretty much all business.  I had a week full of conferences, meetings, and just miscellaneous craziness at work.  We did manage to squeeze in a trip to Stoney’s Produce in Virginia Beach for some pumpkins.

With our Mr. Dave the Scarecrow, mum, and now two pumpkins, I feel pretty fall festive!

Aren’t those white pumpkins just so interesting!?!?

Holden ended up wanting to put it back and get two orange ones.  I’m a traditionalist sometimes myself too.

With temps taking a slight dip this weekend, I’m loving the more realistic fall weather.  Hope you had a great weekend!
