Thankful Day 4

Oh, Friday before Thanksgiving!  You are so sweet!  I’m so excited about so many things, but most of all, I’m excited about being at home with the Mr. and Holden.  This season requires {by our choice} so much travel.  I absolutely love waking up in my own house with all house members present {aka all the menfolk}.  On our agenda for this weekend…

Eye Doctor Appointment for Me

Two Birthday Parties in One Day –

a Visit from C-Pa and Meme

Town Center Christmas Parade and Tree Illumination

Church + a Soup and Homemade Bread Sale {can’t forget that part!}

Christmas Decor Getting Dusted Off and Put to Good Use! {minus the tree}

Plus, we’ve got some cleaning, cooking, packing, and We’re-So-Thankful-For-You gifts to assemble for Holden’s daycare and preschool ladies.  In the midst of all this craziness, I want to remain focused on the feeling of being thankful.  Here are my four for today…

1.  my grandparents – They passed away several years ago, but I catch myself wondering what they would say about all the present day going-ons.  They were such a big part of my life, and I wish I had been as thankful for them then as I am now.

2.  iPod – making cardio easier for me since 2005

3.  laughing with kids – A student was reading about schools in Afghanistan today in my reading group.  He was trying to say the language that is spoken there is “Dari.”  Instead, he said “diarrhea.”  Belly laughs all around!

4.  winter squash – with cinnamon and a smidge of butter or oil, it can masquerade as dessert = excellence

Hope you had a great day!  ‘Tis the season for to-dos!
