It’s March People!

Hi everyone!  I can’t believe we are in March.  Happy days are here {soon, I hope!}.  By happy, I mean warmer, less snowy days.  Not that I’m complaining about all the time with H at home…but…I’m so looking forward to feeling some sun on my skin, more hours of daylight, and less layers of clothing.  Oh spring…can’t wait to see you!

This is H’s birthday week, so there will be lots of excitement and prep work to prepare for that.  We are having the “kid party” on Saturday.  Family and close adult friends + their kids will be coming on Sunday.  I can’t wait.  I’ve been planning and thinking about this for months, and I’m so excited to have everyone get together.  Good thing H was nice enough to have a birthday for us to all party it up, huh!?!?

We started off our weekend with a dentist trip on Friday for H plus lots of sledding.  He was such a big boy at the dentist.  I was most impressed with him, and I think the ladies were relieved to have a rather painless pediatric appointment. I was less proud {but pretty amused} when my son dropped pants on the front porch as we are rushing to get the in house.  He was saying, “Mommy, I have to pee pee.”  Me – “I know buddy.  We are going as fast as we can.”  I turn to tell him to hurry inside, and there he is.  Pants by his ankles and watering the frosty flowerbed.  His response – “My daddy lets me do it.”  Said with a certain amount of “Duh Mom!” attitude.  We had a little talk about bathroom use outside when visiting family in the country and how we don’t pee pee outside at our house…we live in the city.  Oh my.

Over the actual weekend, we got to enjoy time and lunch with some friends, conqueror some errands, sweep/dust away the dust bunnies, and RELAX.  Very nice indeed.  We rented Maleficent with Angelina Jolie on Friday from the local Redbox.  I didn’t watch the movie expecting a thing.  I was pleasantly surprised when the plot turned out to be a goodie.  Great message too.

Other pictures from the weekend…

True for life in general.  True in workplace, workouts, and homework {both written and menial in nature} specifically.

After this lovely picture, I was all peppy since I was having a good hair day.  I hopped, skipped, and jumped to the Mr.’s truck for our errands and lunch plans only to bust my tail on the icy driveway.  Not so graceful…but my hair was no worse for the wear.  🙂

Love to catch him engrossed in his books.

I’m off to write my list and check it twice, thrice, etc. for all this celebrating.  Have a great Monday!
